2 1. Consider the compound below (C 10 H 18 ) and answer the following questions. (12 marks) 1. a). Provide the full chemical name (IUPAC) of this compound. (3 marks) 1. b). This compound undergoes an electrophilic addition reaction on treatment with hydrogen bromide (HBr). Draw the chemical structure of the expected major product of this reaction. (1 mark) 1. c). Provide the full chemical name (IUPAC) of the compound you have drawn above. (3 marks) 1. d). The first step of the reaction described above involves protonation (addition of H + ) of the carbon-carbon double bond. This can lead to two possible carbocation intermediates .
