ECE 314 Family Traditions A family tradition that my family has celebrated for a long time is a Christmas Novena. It starts on Christmas day and goes till the first of January. 1. Yes, for this family tradition the expense for food does cost a bit. It does not cost for decorations because we already have all the Nativity statues and other supplies. 2. The family Novena is planned to be done starting Christmas Day and go till January 1 st . It does happen every year. I don’t know exactly how the date is set, only that my Grandma has been doing the Novena since she was 16 years old. Nowadays, my aunts and uncles do the planning for this tradition. 3. My whole family (on my dad’s side) takes part in this tradition: all the aunts, uncles, cousins and sometimes even extended family too. Different tasks and responsibilities that everyone has are singing the novena songs and helping preparing the food. 4.
