The third Health Science Exam Will include topics on Immunity and disease ( what we covered),The Reproductive Systems ( both Male and Female), Sexually transmitted Diseases , and contraceptive methods. Below are some statements that will guide you as to the breath of material on the exam. Immunity and disease. (Look at your edition of HALEs for this chapter and reread the chapter and review your Powerpoint notes) What is a pathogen ? (definition) What are the pathogens types ? What is an incubation period? Who discovered Penicillin? What is it? What does it treat? What is a virus? Give morphology. Why does it need a host to survive? Infections: Compare local and systemic Levels of Immunity: Compare and contrast: First line of defense, Innate immune system, and the acquired immune system. Acquired immune system is also called humurol response and Adaptive Response (All the same) Recognize the different types of white blood cells we discussed. . .What is your lymphatic system? (basic function?)
