Sample from Drama Essay Love at first sight is a concept that seems to be impossible both scientifically and emotionally. Yet, throughout history, this idea has been romanticized, hypothesized, and even synthesized into the material world. What would true love be now without the ideals for every woman of “someday my prince will come” or “Love conquers all?” Fairy tales and love poetry have spawned hundreds of greeting cards and movies that turn this affair of the heart into a multimillion dollar industry. Yet still, what captivates the populous is the backbone of such movies or concepts; romantic notions that stem back to stories like “Snow White.” Perhaps none have affected the Western World as much as William Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet.” This story has captured the minds and fantasies of young lovers for over five hundred years. Although the story is of true love that ends in a mutual type of suicide, one cannot help but focus on the motivation of the characters. Juliet is perhaps the most interesting in how she forsakes all she has and could have in the name of love. At the time the play was written, one can imagine that the audience would have been
