Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue The sight is something else coming into port at Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue. The first thing that caught my eye was the beautiful yachts in the marina. The weather is a little chilly, 18*C that’s 64*F. I can smell something fishy and I want to check it out. ( http://members.virtualtourist.com ) I spoke with some locals to find out where the strong fish smell was coming from, other than the ocean. They took me to find it on this cool looking “Bateau ou autocar” ride to the oyster fields.

The pillow shaped nets hold the oysters above the ground, but when there is a high tide they are submerged under water. Here’s a close up. ( http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/p/m/ 39aff9/ ) After the long trip and looking at oyster fields has made me hungry. I’m off to find a spot to grab some food and before dusk I better find a place to stay as well....
