TO: Chris Yoder FROM: XLIX Interns DATE: 11/11/2011 RE: Beam Design Project CC: Daniel Latta It seems that our beam design was a success, congratulations. Our calculated beam deflection was accurate, and our beam held up to the weight along both axes. Do not be let down by the fact that the beam did not surpass expectations by achieving the desired 10 bonus points given by the load to weight ratio. Based on the work that we have completed, as well as the quality of the work, I would clearly note this as a very successful project that brought out the best of each individual. The beam design data sheet was a very helpful tool in understanding what this project entailed, and laid out a pathway in which to work. Looking back on the Gantt chart it seems that we were right on schedule, as a great team should always be. In summation, I would like to thank each group member that helped in completing this difficult project. We, as a team, would like to thank you for allowing us this extraordinary opportunity to design and construct this beam.
