Unformatted text preview: This topic will provide an introduction/basis to chemical reactivity - the reactions/transformations of various classes of organic compounds [alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, alkyl halides (haloalkanes), alcohols, ethers, amines, aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids as well as their derivatives]. These chemical reactions will be discussed after I have discussed the topic of spectroscopy/structure determination of organic compounds. However, as acids and bases relate to a topic concerning stereochemistry ( i.e. the resolution of enantiomers), I will discuss acids and bases before spectroscopy.
