Breone Mikell American Government February 1, 2010 Dr. Kris Beck Federalism 1.) Which level of government should make most of the laws for the citizens today? Why? The level of government that should make most of the laws for the citizens today is a more modernized balanced government. I believe that the level of power and authority should be split between both the national governments and the states. Some things that occur in the states should be left up to the authority of the states, unless it’s something unconstitutional or necessary for the national government. I’m not saying that the national government should have no authority regarding the states; I just think that the states should have more power and authority. Many people argue that such change would lead to chaos and there would be too much authority left up to the states. Others argue that it would be too many different laws coming from 50 different states. Personally, I think that there could be some sort of combination from all of the states that would
