Parents and the Role They Play with School Violence After our readings in the course packet and viewing Elephant I have come to learn that there is just not one answer for any form of school violence. But, to me there is still one prominent factor that sticks out in my head and for some reason cannot get passed and that is the parents of these children. It just seems to mean that in every case of school violence, when the media goes back to the killer or harmful child there is parent that either chose to ignore the warning signs of the future, ignore their child all together, pretend like nothing was going to happen when they knew something was wrong or themselves were a threat to others. Parents in general are largely responsible for the actions of their children because they are their legal guardians and should have nothing but good intentions for them. Looking through the articles in the course packet you also see that the authors use this as a potential reason for school violence such as the mother
