Prolactin (PRL): stimulates milk production by mammary glands of breasts o Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH): stimulates gamete production in gonads o Leutinizing hormone (LH): promotes production of gonadal hormones o Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH): secretion of hormones from thyroid gland o Adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH or corticotropin ): stimulates release of corticosteroid hormones from adrenal cortex - Posterior pituitary (Neurohypophysis): hypothalamus for later release o Oxytocin: produced by paraventricular nucleus of hypothalamus ; stimulates o Antidiuretic hormone (ADH): produced by supraoptic nucleus of hypothalamus ; stimulates kidney tubules to retain water deficiency of ADH secretion leads to diabetes insipidus Hypothalamus:
