Simulation A simulation consists of a sequence of random outcomes that model a situation. A trial is sequence of events we want to investigate. The response variable is what we are trying to find out about.

Explain how you will model the situation with a random number chart (if given) or a random number generator. How are you going to assign single digits (0 – 9) or 2 digits (00 – 99) to represent the outcome. Explain how you will simulate a trial. Are you doing a certain number of outcomes or are you waiting for something specific to occur? Explain what your response variable is. What is it that you are trying to find? Run your trials. Mark on your random number chart. Read the question carefully to find out if they ask you to do specific number of trials. Analyze your response variable. Are you finding a probability (part/total trials) or are you calculating an average? State your conclusion.
