Introduction • Thermodynamics is a science involving transfer of heat. • It involves systems that undergoes from one state of equilibrium to another. • The change of equilibrium makes no reference on the time the process will take.
Cont. • Thermodynamics is interested in the heat transfer rate. • The aim of this talk is to have the extension of the thermodynamics analysis involving various transfer modes and the connection to the temperature ,density alongside volume at a constant pressure. • It also entails the blackbody radiation curve concept.
Cont. • Thermodynamics is all about dealing with state of equilibrium as well as the changes that occur from a state to state. On the other hand, transfer of entails in-equilibrium systems; hence heat transfer study is in hand with thermodynamics as a subject. • Thus, thermodynamics’ laws lay a guideline for heat transfer. • The first law of thermodynamics deals with the rate of energy transfer into the system being equivalent to the increase of rate increase of the energy.
