Harris 1 Connor Harris Daniel Altenburg English 102 11 Apr 2010 Purpose of Public Argument I hope to convince the college football fan base that it is not a good idea to pay college athletes. Through the use of a board game and quick power point I will make this clear. On my power point I will give a little history of the issues that have happened in college sports and as a result the reasons we should not pay college athletes. Because many of the fans already agree with this point it will only act as reinforcement for some. There are however, good amounts of people that think that athletes are being taken advantage of by not getting paid. I will be speaking

The reaction of the group of people who do not agree with me, I hope will be an eye opening thought on the issues that go with paying these athletes. I would be happy if I were to be able to convince, those for paying college athletes, that maybe it is not such a good idea after all. By starting with background and the facts that go with them, and leading to a game which shows there is no winner in the argument and only trouble can arise, I hope to show that the con’s of the argument outweigh the pro’s....
