Date: July 6, 2011 To: Dr. Janac From: Carla Paulo Subject: Case Study Assignment The purpose of this memo is to explain the intentions of the memo I am sending to the employees of McKay. The assignment tells me to send a letter to let all the employees know that doors must be locked after hours during weekdays and during all times during the weekend. As a manager I cannot take any disciplinary actions against the employees nor can I reward them. I plan on solving the issue of the doors remaining unlocked by approaching the subject in a friendly, yet firm, manner. Since I can’t take any actions to discipline the employees I plan on asking for their help instead of making any accusations. I also intend to make them think of their own belongings possibly stolen or damaged. I may also warn them about the possibility of the locks being exchanged by the security and the hassle that it would cause everyone.
