Stonehenge Outline General Purpose : To Inform Specific Purpose : To explain Stonehenge’s basic information, how it was built, and what is was used for. Introduction : If aliens don’t exist and giants only exist in New York and San Francisco, who built it? With its 4,000 year old 50 ton sarsen stones and bluestones from the mountains of the Wales, Stonehenge still stands as the biggest mystery in England. A poet named Elizabeth Barrett Browning once wrote, “She has seen the mystery hid under Egypt’s pyramid: By those eyelids pale and close now she knows what Rhamses knows.” Archaeologists and scientists have come up with basic information of Stonehenge, theories of how it was built, and theories of what it was used for to get as close as they can to solving this enigma, but no one has yet to see under Stonehenge’s mask and see its true meaning.
