10/12/2010 2 • R134a enters the expansion valve of a refrigeration system as a saturated liquid at a pressure of 1.0 MPa, is throttled in the valve, and exits at a pressure of 0.10 MPa. Example 19.2 What is the quality of the refrigerant exiting the expansion valve? (Answer: x 2 = 0.414) • Now assume that the R134a is initially at 1.0 MPa, 80 C.
