Unformatted text preview: Cell Division Notes- Make notes on the 3 functions of cell division (remember to include examples) Healing and Tissue Repair- Healing and tissue repair is when new and healthy cells replace old and dead cells. You will not have the same cells you are born with because every second millions of cells in your body are injured or die. If the new cells did not come and replace the old, and injured cells our bodies would eventually shrivel up and we would die. An example would be when you scrap your knee. Your cells on your knee become injured and eventually turn into a scab and sometimes peel. When they peal they are making way for the new and healthy cells. Growth- When more cells are in an organism the organism grows. The more cells in an organism the more that organism grows. Growth of all living things depends on cell division and the amount of cells in the organism grows....
