Krajec Anna Krajec Dustin Hogan / Dr. Moore Christian Formation 11/12/11 The Bus “S-a-n-c-t-i-f-i-c-a-t-i-o-n.” At the small Nazarene church that I grew up in, an elderly man attended that would award any elementary or middle school student two dollars if they could correctly spell this word. I heard the word often from the pulpit, especially after sixth grade when I had to start sitting in “big people church.” The Nazarene doctrine believes wholeheartedly in holiness and entire sanctification—it is central to the church’s functioning— but it has taken attending a Nazarene university to really open my eyes to what it truly means. Up until entering college, youth pastors had always written it off as “letting Jesus have the driver’s seat.” Come to find out, there is a bit more to the whole idea. God calls us plainly to a life of holiness in Leviticus: “I am the LORD . . . your God; therefore be holy, because I am holy” (NIV). His loving nature desires that we exist in constant awareness of and in full surrender to him. But, like the Nazarene Doctrine ‘Holiness People’ explains, “God has also given us the gift and responsibility of choice” (Nazarene.org).

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
