Information Search - In order to find the “real thing” to ensure you are not just buying due to propaganda - Accidental- discovering a buying choice by accidental use of a product - Trivertising- being able to test out a product - Post Purchase o Did I order the wrong thing? Where do good ideas come from? - From collaboration and working together Challenge of Advertising - You have to convince that when people are ready to buy, they choose the product o Brand recall Sources of Information for customers Marketer Sources Salesperson effect - Can be positive in order to make a sale, or can be bad and can lose business Store Displays - In grocery stores, typically the most frequently purchased food is in the back of the store to encourage customers to explore the store Company Websites - Ability for consumer to customize product - Ability for consumer to read customer reviews and interact with the product
