Com 300 1.19.10 Interview: Grant Wagner What was the most surprising thing you took from Com 300? -More demanding than you would think. Research Intensive. Biggest Challenges? -Research Project. Tests are good and fair but the big project is a whole different project. Different from anything else. Overcoming the challenge? -See Professor Stolzfus in office hours. The book can only explain so much. Read other research proposals for format. **See Professor Stolzfus as much as possible to get self-direction for the project. -Final Project was about 10 pages. -Be sure when picking a topic to pick something that not only can you find research about but a topic that you are interested in and is manageable. Keep it simple! -Use time wisely; take advantage of library day, your rough draft, and start early. Notes: I. Benefits of Research Methods – Done by Research on Benefits of Research Method Classes A. Enhanced Career Preparation 1. If you have a research methods class where they execute their own project, then the student is being taught to be self-directed. 2. It is ok to ask for help!
