Eric Slover Ethics of Food November 29, 2011 Assignment 7 Christmas time is usually the first time of the year that I get to see all of my family because I have aunts and uncles all over the United States. As stated in the assignment, my family lives around food during the holidays. If there isn’t a feast when you first walk in the door, than you know that you’re early or you just have a “stuffey” nose. Usually, we have a ham, a prime rib, and all sorts of veggies, mashed potatoes and a salad. We eat like there is no tomorrow because food is very much a social event than just food. We eat family style, all of the food on the table and yelling across the table for someone to pass the gravy or to throw them the biscuits or that they need a drink. I believe my family can be a portrait for “mainstream” America because we have all of the teens sitting together enjoying themselves as well as stuffing their face, and then you have the adults, who display some what of the same behavior. My family is very close,
