Question: “An Army of One: Me ” describes the rise of the self-esteem movement in American culture and the current me-focused generation it has produced. Twenge provides ample evidence that American cultural institutions, especially schools, have taught Generation Me members to have high self esteem regardless of their actual performances and accomplishments.
