For instance, the large num- bers of thin male and female models can lead to eating disorders. The influence of the media on all aspects of culture and society has spread everywhere. This is especially the case in United States. One of the social cultural aspects particularly influenced by the media is body image. A surprisingly large number of individuals, the majority of which are young women and men, de- velop their body image in accordance with the ideas advanced by the media, which judge attract- iveness based on how thin they are. This is a particularly significant problem as young men and women, try in an effort to adhere to the supposed criterion of beauty, consequently develop eat- ing disorders, and other disorders that pose a threat to their health. The defined physiques of many male models featured in the media cause some men to develop eating disorders, such as anorexia. “ In almost every commercial, theres a male with a six pack and toned arms, so males, teens especially want to duplicate that image.
