Unformatted text preview: Assignment #2: The Podcast Podcast Script: Sunday Feb. 20 th Final Podcast: Thursday Feb. 24 th So far, you’ve encountered three readings that demonstrate how particular sports or events participate in the making of identities we commonly attach to local and national communities: for example, the “Miracle on Ice” at Lake Placid, U.S.A. (Abelson); cricket in Trinidad (James); and rugby in South Africa (Carlin). In addition, you’ve completed a writing exercise in which you explore how a cultural practice— sports-related or otherwise— allows to feel as if you’re a part of a community.
