Forms of hacer in the preterite tense Yo Hice Hiciste Ud. Hizo Él/Ella Hizo Nosotros Hicimos Ellos/Ellas hicieron In the present tense, with the exception of nosotros, all forms carry stress on the stem. All forms of the regular preterite carry stress somewhere on the ending. The preterite tense is used to talk about single events in the past or a sequence of events, ones that are viewed as having been completed at a particular point in the past.
