Required Textbooks Classical Mechanics, John R. Taylor, University Science Books, 2005. Spacetime Physics, Edwin F. Taylor and John Wheeler, W. H. Freeman and Co., 1966 Homework Homework assignments (approximately one per chapter) are due at 5:00 on the days given on the class schedule, found on the course website. Assignments handed in up to 24 hours late will be penalized by 15%, 24-48 hours late by 30%; later will not be accepted. Your lowest homework score will be dropped from your course average. No other allowances will be made for late or missed homework. Your homework average constitutes 40% of your course grade. Exams/Oral Presentations There will be two in-class midterm exams, one oral presentation on a topic to be assigned on the subject of special relativity, and a final exam.
