Alex Garner Mrs. Evans English 112.09 8 May 2011 Invisible Children Earlier in the year ACU sponsored a group to come speak to the student body about a powerful and growing organization, Invisible Children. According to the website, here is how it was founded. “In 2003, 3 young Americans traveled to Uganda, where they discovered the people there living in a nightmare of fear and suffering, and a war in which the children are the weapons and the victims . These Americans brought their story back home, and what started out as a powerful film documentary became much more. Soon after I nvisible Children Incorporated was born, a non-profit organization dedicated solely to exposing the atrocities that are affecting people around the world. By using the power of media, focusing on long-term goals, Invisible Children enables children to “take responsibility for their future and the future of their country through carefully researched and developed initiatives that address the need for quality
