Please use VMD from the University of Illinois, available here: http://www.ks.uiuc.edu/Research/vmd/ (You will have to register for the free download). In addition, you will need to access the protein data bank (PDB) at www.rcsb.org . Also helpful is the book website: You are encouraged to work together, but each of you needs to hand in your own solution. The solution needs to be typed, not handwritten. You should hand in a print out of the solution at the beginning of the class on Wednesday. 1. Atomic level representations of biological molecules (a) Obtain coordinates for the following molecules: lambda repressor/DNA complex or Lac repressor/DNA complex. You can find the coordinates by searching the Protein Data Bank.
