Hints are helpful clues or simpler questions that guide you to the answer. Hints are not available for all questions. There is no penalty for leaving questions in Hints unanswered. Grading of Incorrect Answers before the last attempt: You lose 30% credit per incorrect answer on multiple-choice and true/false questions. You lose 3% credit per incorrect answer on questions that are not multiple-choice or true/false.

Unformatted text preview: Exams Midterm 1: October 14 (class time) Midterm 2: November 4 (class time) Final: Mon, Dec 5, 4:00-6:00pm All exams will be closed book but a cheat sheet is allowed. Exams will be given in the format with both multiple choice(no partial credit) and free response (partial credit) problems. Full solutions ( not just answers ) will be required for free response questions in order to receive credit. The final exam will be cumulative, but weight more on materials discussed after the midterm. NO makeup will be offered for midterm and final. No use of graphical calculators and cell phones will be allowed in the exams. Enforcement of the policy will be by random checking of calculators during the exams. Grades Homework: 24% Midterms: 36% Final: 36% Attendance: 4% Grades will be assigned according to the curve of weighted average scores 12-18%A~A-, 25-40% B + ~B-;30-40 C + ~C-; 8-15% D~F...
