Describe how organizations create/maintain their organizational culture. Organizational Culture Consciously and subconsciously influences the mindset of employees. o Herman Miller - strong culture. Treats its employees extremely well. Consists of the values and beliefs that members of an organization share. o Beliefs and values exist in the mindset of the employees. o Mental mindset of the people in the company o If you have strong culture, people in the organization all share the same set of values and beliefs Reflected in the organization artifacts (outward signs of culture). o Illustrated as an iceberg. (p.75) Artifacts at the top Values and Beliefs on the bottom (culture you can't see) Beliefs influence values. Values affect artifacts. Beliefs - relationships taken to be truthful and correct.
