Unformatted text preview: Universities are committed to building an academically superb and widely diverse educational community. What would I as an individual bring to the campus community? I could say I am an inner city kid, that I lost my dad at a very young age to repeated drug use or that I can barely afford one meal to the next, but the truth is that I have grown up in a surreal life with little obstacles. I am part of a middle class family who is part of a larger predominantly white middle class community. I have never faced any severe family problems, and my family has always been comfortable economically; I couldnt ask for a much better life. Nevertheless, I am both committed to being part of and experiencing the diverse community at university. Attending a very diverse college is essential for me now and my future career to come. As the world is becoming more integrated it is becoming more important to have an experience with cultural diversity. In almost all work situations one must work globally with a diverse group with cultural diversity....
