At the beginning of cell phones, it almost had a life cycle of 2years. However, due to consumer choices, life cycle had changed over time. Cellphones now last longer than it was in the early 2000's is due to the factthat cellphone cost has really risen. Because of the rapid increase in technology and changes in design, we are starting to see 1 to 2 year life cycle comingback. One specific example is the life cycle of the Iphone 10 to the Iphone 11. When Iphone 10 is released, the Iphone 11 was already in the works. Within a year of each other, the Iphone 10 suddenly drop its price because the of new Iphone 11. So by the time the Iphone 12 comes out, Iphone 10 is atthe decline stage.ReferenceCell Phone Life Cycle. (n.d.). I found 3 old cell phones in the drawer that were replacedwith more computer like phone and entertainment features. I feel that the true profit in the short product cycle must be in the initial high profitmargin sales once a new technological improvement hits the market.
