Chetna Mehra Mr. Abercrombie April 17, 2011 Topic 4 Ten years ago on September 11, 2011 we had a terrorist attack that shattered millions of peoples’ lives whether it was the people who died in the World Trade Center, or whether it was a family member who died in the incident. Terrorist have always been in the world however, the nation didn’t realize how big of a problem terrorism really was until the attack on 9/11. As of now, there is not any accurate data of terrorism; in fact the only known terrorist attacks are the ones that have cost human lives and property. Majority of the terrorism that goes on involves violence against innocent people. A few examples are the Oklahoman Bombing, the World Trade Center, and the Pentagon. Also, the victims of terrorism target random people, specific societies, or people who get the Stockholm syndrome. The Stockholm syndrome is a phenomenon in which a hostage begins to identify with and grow sympathetic to their captor. Named for an episode that occurred in Stockholm in August, 1973 when an armed Swedish robber took some bank workers captive, held them for 6
