there were about 250 million registered cars; the number was not greatly affected by the crisis. In 2009, the number dropped slightly to 246 million, resulting from sales of 10 million cars and disposal of 14 million that year. This report analyzes the risks of starting a new car business and how to start it even with a precarious economy. It is likely that recent graduates do not have enough resources to compete in one of the three biggest industries in the world. Nevertheless, it has been possible for some entrepreneurs to transform a small investment into a competitive company. According to The NFIB (National Federation of Independent Business Education Foundation), 30 percent of small car business will lose money, 30 percent will break even, and about 40 percent will be profitable. The economy in these years is prepared to receive more businesses that contribute to the economy. The government has launched some programs to finance small businesses. The materials are ready to use, however, a business eye is essential to succeed. Usually, a starting business needs an attitude of survival in order to overcome the first trials of positioning --lowering prices to increase sales until they have enough customers. Then, there are more important aspects of development to focus on. Some of the common reasons for failure are an inadequate business plan, poor knowledge of the competition, overspending, and poor market segmentation and strategy. With proper education, starting business expenses could become inexpensive.
