From reading this essay I can infer that Mrs. Cullinan was possibly OCD or had some kind of mental need for everything to be in order. She also liked to have everything in order because she came from a rich family and that was tradition. The things that Maya had to do for her included, serving food, setting the table, cooking, and everything had to be done on time and using the proper utensils. 5. I think Maya learned that you should not allow people to put you down, even if you are being played for what you do. Miss Glory said, “Sticks and stones may break your bones, but words…” Angelou learned that words can really heart and that you need to stand up for what you believe in. Purpose and Audience

I think that is why she used them, to show that even though some things ninety-nine percent the same, that one percent was a very significant error. Ludicrous has more of a laughable matter about it and ridiculous is more serious in nature. A tureen is a holding pot for soup, while a soup bowl is what you physically eat the soup out of.
