Sean Quigley AP English 2A 11/21/11 On Fire Purpose and Audience: 1. I think this essay is for non-firefighters because it gives you a brief overview of there job, and tries to make you thankful for their duty. Style and Structure: 1. The words that are repeated the most in this essay are, “you learn”, “you try”, and “you lay.” The use of these words addresses the reader and makes the writing feel more comfortable. 2. In paragraph ten the author uses hyperbole while talking about blood coming out of the human body, and also in paragraph one he uses a negative metaphor when saying that firefighters
