1 MAE 427 Fall 2011 Contents of HT1 Short Report F'11 This report consists of three sections of a standard lab report. We will omit introduction, apparatus/method and conclusions sections, but the abstract should summarize them anyway! 1. Abstract A few sentences on the motivation, the apparatus and the data analysis followed by a presentation of the results and a summary of the conclusions reached. In general, the abstract should cover the content of the entire report, emphasizing the most important points. No longer than 200 words . 2. Results Present important raw data. Present the truck’s power distribution and its combustion efficiency, gross indicated thermal efficiency (defined as th gi p p ) and wheel efficiency. The power distribution breakdown should be as complete as possible, and should be presented effectively. Report available data on catalyst efficiency. For one rpm, report engine-exit NOx, hydrocarbons, and CO vary with load. 3.
