Ethan Chen CM 350 Sep. 20, 2011 Colombia Culture Imagine that you are walking through a small alley. All of the sudden, you bump into countless people all dressed up with colorful pigment painted on their faces. These enthusiastic people surround you dancing, singing and laughing accompanied by the vivid music. Meanwhile, the smell of hot chocolate mixing with the fragrance of cheeses and bread fills up the whole atmosphere. As you struggle and finally make your way out of the crowd and into the main street, you are fascinated by the scene of a giant rainbow flowing in the sky as the natives and tourists cheer and spread confetti upward in the air. The Parade is now launching and a great masquerade is also taking place. You might think you are lost in a dream world, but you’re not. This exciting wonderland is actually called Colombia, or EI Dorado—the Lost City of Gold.
