Ethan Chen CM 217 Oct. 4, 2011 Culture of Switzerland The beauty of the Zermatt and the Geneva Lake attract thousands of tourists to witness the magnificence of the Mother Nature in Switzerland and over 7 thousands of international conferences are held in Geneva annually. Many global operation centers such as the headquarters of the United Nations and the International Federation of Red Cross are located within the country. The Switzerland is one of the most beautiful places in the world. It is the country which has the most lakes in the European continent. It is also one of the wealthiest nations in the world. Switzerland is well known for its breathtaking landscapes and remarkable banking system. Switzerland is famous for its gorgeous mountains. Most of its highlands are over 4000 meter above the sea level. Approximately 60% of the nation is occupied by the Alps. The culture of Switzerland is strongly affected by this environment. Because of the extended winter period and the bitter climate, the ground provides little supply to the people. Therefore, the Swiss have learned how to confront environmental difficulties.
