Talbot’s core customers are women ages 35-55 with an above-average household income. Catalog customers tended to be slightly older, more affluent, and more likely to buy in the pre- season for the upcoming season than store customers. Talbot’s customers were very loyal to the brand, paid full price for their purchases, and bought frequently. 3. Based on this segmentation scheme, which segments are Talbots’ ideal target market? Needs Help is an ideal target market because they like classic, conservatively tailored styles and active users of catalogs Homebody is an ideal target market because they love classics and tailored clothes, value the overall shopping experience, they get an emotional lift from shopping in a store, about 1/3 are Talbots customers 4.
