Square of Opposition
This is a collection of logical relationships traditionally embodied in a square diagram.
This is a foundation for work in logic for most of history. The square of opposition is a group of
these in a diagram. According to Parsons (2017) “ The diagram is not essential to the theses it is
just a useful way to keep them straight. The theses concern logical relations among four logical
forms;”. The categorical logic is any statement that asserts a whole or partial relationship
between the subject and predicate term of the statement. Then there are propsitional forms using
the variables S and P, for the subject and predicate terms. Such as all S are P it is a universal
affirmative. There is no S are P which is universal negative. The some S are P is a particular
affirmative, And some S are not P a particular negative.
