Reanna Echeverria  Exercise #2 Perceptions  9/8/11 Exercise #2 Perceptions  o Describe specific elements of the What is it? In class experience relating to each  of the three steps in the Perception process:  1. Selection: Notice things that stand out. 2. Organization: a group of things or people identified by a shared significance or  purpose 3. Interpretation: a subjective process of explaining perceptions to assign meaning to  them.  o List every item you were able to identify, and use info from this section in your  textbook entitled Influences on Perception to explain why you were able to identify  the item. Fake apple: I was able to identify this by overthinking it; cognitive ability.  Diet pepsi can: I could identify it because I drink it all the time. Eyelash curler: I would say I used Social Roles to identify this one,  because I am a girl I should know what it is, but I don’t use one. o
