What is a diverse classroom  community? When you think of teaching in a diverse  classroom/school community, what does this  mean and why is it important to understand  diversity as a teaching professional? Today’s class highlights issues of diverse  students’ (1) abilities, (2) race, and (3) gender.

Illinois Professional Teaching  Standards Diversity: The teacher understands how students  differ in their approaches to learning  and creates  opportunities that are adapted to diverse learners.
