MTS 723 Graphical Analysis 2 Linear regression means fitting to a straight line. Proper regression analysis provides expected values (means) and confidence limits (standard deviations) for all fit parameters. REPORT THEM! Correlation coefficients (R 2 values) are totally useless for providing any meaningful information from graphical analysis of scientific data. DO NOT USE THEM in this case! They may be helpful for statistical analysis.
