I was a TA for several undergraduate as well as graduate courses as follows: STA 2023 Introduction to Statistics 1, Fall 2007 & Spring 2008 STA 4502 Nonparametric Statistical Methods, Summer A, 2008 STA 6167 Statistical Methods in Research II, Fall 2008 & Summer B, 2009 STA 4321/5325 Introduction to Probability/Fundamentals of Probability, Spring 2009 STA 3032 Engineering Statistics, Fall 2009 (I have also taught this course for one month in the absence of the instructor) I’m serving as a teaching instructor from Spring 2010. I’ve taught the following courses: STA 3024 Introduction to Statistics 2, Spring 2010 (A big class of 227 students!) STA 4321/5325 Introduction to Probability/Fundamentals of Probability, Fall 2010 Currently, I’m again teaching this course for Spring 2011. This course is intended for undergraduate (STA 4321) as well as graduate (STA 5325) students from different disciplines. Persistent Systems Ltd. (PSL), Pune, INDIA (A Leading Provider of Outsourced Software Product Development Services and one of the fastest growing companies in India) - Senior Member of Technical Staff, June 2006 to May 2007. Here I’ve worked in a Data-Mining group called “Analytics Centre of Excellence”. We were involved in a project named “Snippet Tagging Using Text Mining”. This was a unique text classification problem posed by Gridstone Research which has a powerful and flexible analysis and modeling platform that helps investment professionals make better investment decisions. In this project we have done hierarchical multi-class classification using various text mining techniques. We have used SVMs, Naïve Bayes and Hidden Markov Models. We also worked in various data mining and text mining projects and one of our biggest clients was SPSS.
