Lee, Jordan 11/4/08 5° Economics Papa How Service and Sacrifice by America’s Veterans Benefit Today’s Youth America’s veterans are imperative to our society. Without them, one would not be able to enjoy free education or freedom of speech. Veterans sacrifice a lot more than many may think. They are put in to harm’s way, and are willing to die for their country. They sacrifice time by being away from their families and friends, their normal lifestyles, and the things they love to do —all in order to preserve the freedoms we enjoy in this country. Some veterans even gave the ultimate sacrifice by dying for their country. By fighting for our country, veterans are not able to see their children grow up, they are not able to see their family on a daily basis. Essentially, veterans put their life on hold, all in the name of this country. In doing this, veterans help to develop and maintain the success of this country. Because of the Vietnam War, today’s youth no longer needs to worry about being drafted. At age 18, one
