2Assignment 3-3 In Alexandria, Va. Adrienne Carrington, 56, of Fredericksburg, Va., pleaded guilty today to embezzling nearly $570,000 from the American Diabetes Association. (U.S. Attorney’s Office, 2011). Miss Carrington was the Senior Financial Analyst, then promoted to Treasury Manager for the American Diabetes Association. Between the dates of August 2001 through September 2010, she used her position to access the bank account of the Diabetes Association and the accounting documents in order to send unauthorized wire transfers to a personal bank account she owned. Over the nine years, she had 133 separate unauthorized wire transfers for a total of $569,824.48 embezzled. She even altered internal accounting documents in order to cover up her scheme. She made the documents look as if they were legitimate expenses for the American
