Some of the characteristics of the other world include: Dependence on western powers, most other world countries have been at some time colonies of major western powers. A lot of their values and ways of life are integrated with western powers along with their own. Delayed Modernization, about 1/3 of other world countries have access to proper sanitation of food, water, their environment, and proper disposal of human waste. Other world countries are slow to connect to communication services such as the internet, or cell phone usage. For example, (book) only one in one hundred people have internet access in china, in comparison to seventy in one hundred people in the United States. There is a lack of education; therefore trying to run companies and industries is very difficult. There is also a lack of capital and technology, so developing countries have difficulty installing and maintaining sanitation systems, transportation and communication networks, and national security and government services.
