Axia College Material Appendix B Final Exam Access the Electronic Reserve Readings link on your student Web site for Week Nine. Select one of the topics below and read both articles that present opposing sides of the argument surrounding that topic. o Animal experimentation o Outsourcing o Media violence Answer the following questions in paragraphs of approximately 100 words demonstrating your critical and creative thinking skills. 1. Identify if the topic you chose, as presented by both articles, is a problem or an issue and explain what makes it a problem or an issue. If you believe the articles present both problems and issues, identify and explain what the problems are and what the issues are. I chose Media Violence as my topic of discussion. After reading through both articles; I have to say that Media Violence promotes a problem rather than an issue. When you have an issue, you generally can readily come up with the solution. Often, you even know how you would solve an issue before it even presents itself. A problem, on the other hand, is not something that you can solve without forethought, and even a certain amount of guesswork. From my point of view, Media Violence is just one problem that has no typical solution or main answer too. There can be multiple opposing viewpoints to this matter, but nothing that can actually solve this problem of how media violence has an effect on people. 2. Were the problems or issues expressed effectively? Describe how the problems or issues were or were not best expressed. I believe the problems and issue were expressed effectively on this matter. Each opposing article on Media Violence both explained their thoughts on this matter and the cause and effects that come along with Media Violence. Regarding Media Violence, one article explained that there are no real clear answers on how this can affect children, because there behavior should include facts from the real world, not just causes from television. The other article explains that Media Violence has a big effect on viewers and that their actions usually rely on what social media has influenced. They both clearly discuss their concerns regarding this problem.
