Unformatted text preview: Examples of what we will look for in writing include but are not limited to: Clear and concise statement of the papers argument (ie the thesis). Examples that clearly support the thesis. Topic sentences that relate to both the thesis and the paragraph. Proper use of quotations and paraphrases. Formal and clear writing. To grade for improvement, we will look back at comments on previous papers to see if specific problems identified earlier are fixed or improved. If you make the types of mistakes on Paper 3 as you did previously, you can expect it to hurt your grade. Alternatively, if we see improvement on some of the problems identified earlier in the semester, that may help your grade.
